About the competition

International Day of Rural Women is celebrated on October 15. In connection with this day, Taso Foundation is launching a campaign within the framework of which we are announcing a three-minute film competition on the topic of women living in rural areas.
Participation in the contest is open to anyone who wants to convey the message through visual storytelling in an original, understandable and interesting way, to contribute to raising awareness about women living in rural areas, to make the audience think about important problems and ways to solve them.


Conditions of participation in the competition

• The main character of the film should be a woman living in a rural area;
• The film must address one of the following three issues: migration, natural disasters and conflicts;
• The duration of the film should not exceed 3 minutes, however, it may be less;
• The film must be in Georgian with English subtitles;
• The genre of the film may be: feature, documentary, feature-documentary, experimental and animation.
• The film format must be HD;
• The film must not be published before entering the competition and must not be published on any other platform until the end of the competition.

Assessment of works

Competition films will be evaluated by a specially invited four-member jury. The evaluation will take place in two stages, the author of three winning films from the ten films passed to the second stage will be announced on October 15, at the final event of the campaign dedicated to the Day of Rural Women.

Films will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

• presentation of the topic;
• original idea;
• creative approach;
• visual storytelling techniques;
• sound and image quality;
• compliance with ethical standards.

Deadline for receiving works:

The deadline for receiving works is October 8. The information about the films passed to the second stage will be announced on October 12.
3 winning films will be named on October 15 and will be gradually distributed on the online platforms of Taso Foundation.


Prize fund:

I place - 2000 GEL

II place - 1500 GEL

III place - 1000 GEL
