Nana Kochalidze from Naruja

First steps

I am Nana Kochalidze, I live in Naruja, Ozurgeti region. By the way, we have a very good village,  and I love it very much. I had been engaged in agriculture before, I was growing vegetables, nuts and I was actively involved in rural life as well. Then I heard that Taso Foundation had entered our village.

I heard that a group of women was formed, whose community worker was Lia Kotrikadze, a history teacher. We had a lot of respect for this person and so to speak, we were attracted to be involved with her in a new activity for us. We learned a lot in the process. Until now, I did not know how to write a project and I would not even think about connecting my future to an incubator. And now I love my job very much. Imagine for a second - first a new life emerges and then you take care of it. It is a real miracle.

Challenges

It is true that the pandemic has brought a lot of damage to us, but we still manage to keep the family. This is an extremely time consuming business. There are many things to consider and take into account. The incubator needs a lot of knowledge, I used to have about 50 chickens at home, but now if I put 1160 eggs in, I will get at least 750 chickens. Everything has its rules and regulations, which is not easy, but when the family depends on it, you have no other way, you have to work.

Lately people have also been having a hard time, when I call old clients, they tell me that they can no longer afford to buy or keep chickens. Everything is expensive and I do not know how to keep up to all this. Nor do I know what our family would do without Taso Foundation and their help. Thank you for everything.
