Visit of the Ambassador of Norway and the representatives of the UN Women to Ozurgeti City Hall

On May 3, 2022, within the framework of the "Women's Economic Empowerment Project", the representatives of the UN Women Georgia and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Georgia Helene Sand Andresen together with the representatives of Taso Foundation, met with Ozurgeti Mayor Avtandil Talakvadze, the Chairman of the City Council, Davit Darchia and the female members of the City Council.

"As far as I know, you are doing well with gender budgeting in Ozurgeti and it is nice when it turns out that the government is cooperating with civil society, women's initiative groups and grassroots organizations. But since you are already doing well, you should not rest, you have to work in this direction even more and make Guria a model for the rest of Georgia,” Andresen said in an address to the mayor of Ozurgeti.

Nino Chanishvili, Chairperson of the Sakrebulo Gender Equality Council, shared her success story with the participants, describing her path from obtaining a driver's license to establishing a well-known driving school in the region and chairing the Sakrebulo Gender Equality Council. The meeting continued in a discussion format between the participants.
